Anniversary of change – the Stonewall Rebellion

In 1969, police entered a gay bar–The Stonewall Inn, on Christopher Street, in New York City and began harassing patrons, a regular activity at the time. This time, however, the patrons fought back. The riots and protesting lasted for three days, and sparked the beginning of the gay civil rights movement.
