exacerbate the pathological politicisation

This desk could tell stories (some not so boring)
Like the time when the coworkers all walked out
Because of sexual harassment
But you stayed for your own, because of the baby
Count the ancient coffee rings, to find the true age of the hours
Wasted crunching numbers
About nothing, about money, about reporting requirement 1,2,3
There’s DNA hidden in the keyboard, probably never cleaned
Feeding micro-organisms that are plotting away amidst their own
Professional and dresscoded effects, ethics, economics
What is it all for? A career, a house, a car, a marriage or two
The kids, retirement, a tisket a tasket, a velvet lined casket
How many times has this desk heard sighing,
Supporting the elbows that support the head held in the hands
