a pile of leaves

Too many spirits this summer’s end
Stock sheltering, split semblance
Stipulating your shift of skeletal stress,
Hallowing hardwood and horror over humans
But could you commemorate the craving for candy?
Seized in symbology, a soulless spider
Of pulp pulled pumpkins
Tricking and treating and telling typecasting
We scarcely survive the season of Samhain
Bonfires. Black corn husks. Burnt barmbrack
Misusing mis-imagery of misery’s mysteries
