validate the ethos

I left a letter on my phone telling it to
Close the line in reversible two-way connections
All 6” of black plastic disconnect, but my phone
Kept ringing and

Held memory of its design to us while
I sang forth the

Ultimate protest of being tethered to the world
Velcro hymn of quiet as the light regressed
And sounds of night colors,

Instead of cars and sirens and neighborhood wanderers
The neutral music-murder neutered across
East Van and space and city

Not a street, nor the clamor of empty dramas, playing out for any to observe
With this sound off, the trees free whispered,
Reminiscing a thousand year odyssey
