Stumbled over this, randomly, for sale on the internetz. Brought back my respect for this ground-breaking designer and his memorable impact not only on conceptual fashion, but pop culture history.

Rabanne started his career in fashion by creating jewelry for Givenchy, Dior, and Balenciaga (*BOW DOWN HERE*). He started his own fashion house in 1966. He used such unconventional materials as metal, paper and plastic for his outlandish AND flamboyant designs.

Paco Rabanne is widely, & wildly, recognized for his costume designs for such films as Barbarella.

And for fun, some super sexy Barberella-Rabanne styles:

Bling just doesn’t get brighter, or more modern, STILL!  Peep his recent collection, welcoming us all back to the future and away from our fascination with the past.

The man is a genius.
